She, Her, Hers | Columbia, MD | Facilitator

Lisa is an educator, facilitator, and strategic relationship builder. She strives everyday to do her work with a radical love-centered, transformative justice-driven, race and intersectionality and equity-based lens. She has worked in the areas of college student development, diversity, inclusion and social justice education, training and organizational development for over 25 years. Lisa holds an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Richmond. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Lisa’s most recent social justice-based, community work has been within Howard County, Maryland as a board member of the Wilde Lake High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), a parent volunteer with the Wilde Lake High School Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP); a member of the Board of Education’s Educational Equity Policy Committee; Co-convener of the Inclusion Collaborative; and volunteer with Howard County Pride.

In support of her passion for and commitment to this work, Lisa stays centered through prayer, meditation, gigong, yoga, spending quality time with all the good folks in her life, reading, SciFi shows/movies, and salsa dancing! What humbles, drives and keeps her accountable to this work is being the mother of her bright, beautiful, Black multi-ethnic daughter; and being in loving relationship with her amazing family, friends, neighbors and colleagues.
